چکیده
Biosynthetic routes based on cost-efficient, eco-friendly, and sustainable platforms for compounds such as styrene are urgently needed. The biosynthesis of from L-phenylalanine (L-Phe) via trans-cinnamate has long been established, but toxicity limits yields. This study demonstrates that whole-cell cascade biotransformation employing an E. coli consortium expressing respectively phenylalanine ammonia-lyase ferulic acid decarboxylase negates both the issue need enzyme purification. Using resting or lyophilised cells, efficient conversion L-Phe to (up ∼24 g/L) is readily achieved combined with robust extraction methods. use enriched biomass yields equally rapid production isolation renewable styrene. establishes improved strategy industrial bio-production styrene, by extension other toxic reactive chemicals corresponding bio-compatible precursors.

ANDROSTENEDIONE PRODUCTION BY BIOTRANSFORMATION OF PHYTOSTEROL by ALOK KUMAR MALAVIYA
This thesis embodies the work carried out using free Mycobacterium sp. cells as whole cell biocatalysts for androstenedione (AD) production from (3-sitosterol by selective side chain cleavage. While studying sitosterol to AD biotransformation in aqueous medium, different strategies were tried to improve the production of AD. In the first step, a mutant strain of Mycobacterium sp DSMZ 2966 was d...
متن کاملBiotransformation for L-ephedrine production.
L-ephedrine is widely used in pharmaceutical preparations as a decongestant and anti-asthmatic compound. One of the key intermediates in its production is L-phenylacetylcarbinol (L-PAC) which can be obtained either from plants (Ephedra sp.), chemical synthesis involving resolution of a racemic mixture, or by biotransformation of benzaldehyde using various yeasts. In the present review, recent s...
متن کاملBiofuel production by in vitro synthetic enzymatic pathway biotransformation.
Cell-free synthetic pathway biotransformation (SyPaB) is the implementation of complicated biochemical reactions by in vitro assembling a number of enzymes or their complexes and coenzymes. Assembly of numerous enzymes without cellular membrane, gene regulation, or undesired pathway can circumvent some of the obstacles to modifying living microorganisms. Several synthetic pathways for the produ...
متن کاملBiotransformation of Hydrocortisone by Neurospora crassa
The ability of Neurospora crassa FGSC 4335 in the biotransformation of hydrocortisone was investigated. The microorganism produced two major metabolites after incubation with the substrate for seven days. Each microbial product was purified chromatographically and identified on the basis of spectral data. The products were identified as 11?,17?,20?,21-tetrahydroxypregn-4-en-3-one (II) and 11?-h...
متن کاملProduction of Arbutin by Biotransformation of Hydroquinone Using Peganum harmala, Varthemia persica and Pycnocycla spinosa Cell Suspension Cultures
Cell cultures of Varthemia persica, Peganum harmala and Pycnocycla spinosa have been studied to evaluate their abilities to bioconvert exogenous hydroquinone. Arbutin is an important substance that has several pharmaceutical applications; therefore, we have established V. persica and P. spinosa cultures which seem to be able to metabolize hydroquinone. C...
